I decided to launch The Color Counsel after 20 years of helping people in my city select paint colors. It was early 2020, right before the pandemic began, and I wondered if people would be open to using video conferencing to select paint colors. Well, you know how that ended up.

We have now helped many customers with selecting paint colors all around the country & the world, right from our laptops. Of course, in person meetings are preferable, but virtual can work in a pinch!

Over the years, through working with architects, tradespeople and homeowners, I have learned that paint colors are not just simply colors. They serve as a protective layer for your home, sure, but they also affect the way you feel. I consider paint color an excellent design tool that can be used to bring out the very best parts of your home (or hide the worst!) My favorite motto is “ the right color costs the same as the wrong color “

I am drawn to big thinkers and artists who can see beyond black & white thinking and never settle for lazy solutions. This is who i seek in my creative community. We are guided by these principles, a passion for solving problems, a commitment to caring for our environment, the ability to listen, a deep sense of what is beautiful and timeless and most importantly: sarcasm, wit and good humor.
